1/11 – Additional standards
Additional German safety standards (e.g. a separate emergency exit from the engine control room) are abolished as the former UVV See is discontinued.
As of 1 January 2011, large parts of the old UVV See were repealed and with it German supplementary regulations that went beyond the international maritime conventions (primarily the SOLAS Convention) were also abolished. For example, until 2011, shipping companies flying the German Flag were required to install additional emergency exits from the engine control room on their ships. The German Flag no longer imposes such additional special requirements today.
