Video "Rescue Star in action"

Content of the video

The video shows the recovery system “Rescue Star” at a practical emergency exercise on the pilot boat “Explorer”, a modern ship of the shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen.

A person goes overboard at full speed. After the ship has turned, the man overboard is thrown a line. This yellow line connects the man overboard with an orange recovery disk which flexibly adjusts to the sea without endangering the person in the water. After just one minute the person to be rescued is recovered with the “Rescue Star” in a horizontal position (avoiding a recovery collapse). The “Rescue Star” can be easily operated by just one person and without self-endangerment.

The “Rescue Star” can be brought close to the ship’s side wall with a recovery line even with strong sea state as well as large heel and rolling of the ship (not included in the video).

The recovery device “Rescue Star” is a particularly well suited piece of equipment for the recovery from sea (regulation 17-1, chapter 3 of the SOLAS Convention).
